SANTA CLARITA – Nominations are being sought for candidates to be considered for the 2007 Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year. These honors are bestowed on two persons each year who have given the most in voluntary efforts to the Santa Clarita Valley. The awarding of these titles goes back 43 years. The purpose of the SCV Man and Woman of the Year recognition is to honor men and women who have given outstanding volunteer service. The service may be given as an individual or as a member of a group or organization. Official nomination forms and letters were mailed in early January to every club and organization in the Santa Clarita Valley. Judging for these awards will be done by a committee made up of previous winners, and a selection will be made from the nominations. Each organization may nominate up to two candidates. The nominees and their organizations will be announced in March at a reception for the candidates. The 2007 SCV Man and Woman of the Year will be officially named May 4 at the Man and Woman of the Year dinner at the Hyatt Valencia. All Santa Clarita Valley clubs and organizations are encouraged to submit their nominations as soon as possible to the committee. Nomination applications are due by Feb. 28. For information, or to obtain a nomination form, contact 2006 honorees Diana Cusumano at (661) 254-2367 or Michael Berger at (800) 409-0746.
